223. Shape We Do

Shape we do
Morning to night
Birth to death

Shape we do
Of perfect corners
Sharp edges
Strong sides

Shape we do
Rubbing our will
Upon muscles
Of our empty hearts

Shape we do
By lathes
Made from eyes, inward

Shape we so do
Yet find not a place
To fit

Shape we do
Into love’s perfect corners
Not by carving our contours

Shape we do
By rubbing sides
Of each other

  1. So true! Like steel against steel, we sharpen each other in mind and spirit . . . Well done!

  2. The shape I’ve been missing is the spoon.. —Smile—
