198. Creatures, Double Winged

we are creatures double winged
made ounces heavier on one side
capturing images of a life hinged
made beautiful by a slanted ride

one part dipped in love
the other deep in duty
torn by silence above
a mind full, heart empty

one part dipped in care
the other deep in priority
lost in emotions to bear
heart full, mind empty

one part dipped in kindness
the other deep in oneself
in love of one’s own trueness
a mind central, heart in shelf

one part dipped in giving
the other deep in self-serving
reminded of one’s meaning
a heart central, mind buckling

one part dipped in laws of order
the other deep in areas unmeasured
in haven of safe, controlled border
a heart left behind, mind treasured

one part dipped in thought, logical
the other deep in freedom unknown
with spirits unfettered, impractical
a mind lost, heart of one’s own
