141. Speed of Thought

God made a program from birth
Set a natural pace
To every being on earth
Animals, seasons in place

Every instinct in nature
With a valley and summit
Having a cycle, it’s feature
Work with a speed limit

Yet this truth, man has torn apart
With a speed in thought
Overtaking action in every part
By life’s reality he is caught

Even nature by man, broken
With plunder, animals extinct
Leaving environment shaken
A mistaken speed, distinct

In timely action he is slow
Lost in a haste to assume, think
Technological obsession to make it grow
To be perplexed by life, on the brink

In life, God does not keep a cop
Every man left to issue his own ticket
To nature’s signals he must move or stop
Bring control before he kicks the bucket
